Kenneth Gorelick, known to his fans as Kenny G, was born June 5, 1956 in Seattle, Washington. Kenny G's albums have sold over 30 million copies. A well-known artist among adult contemporary and smooth jazz fans since the '80s, Kenny G is a household name even for those who love to hate him.

His music career began while he played with Barry White's Love Unlimited Orchestra in 1976. Kenny G also played with Cold, Bold, and Together and Jeff Lorber Fusion. By this time he had been a part of four albums. He was signed to Arista Records as a solo artist in 1982, but it wasn't until Duotones was released in 1986 that Kenny G became a household name. Soon enough, Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, and Natalie Cole were requesting his appearance.

Breathless, released in 1992, sold 8 million copies. Miracles and Moment, released in 1994 and 1996, respectively, continued to be successes for Kenny G. Kenny G has released an average of an album a year since 1982. His most recent release, Best, came in 2006. Kenny G has brought soprano sax sounds to millions of fans.
