Keb' Mo' Information

Kevin Moore was born October 31, 1951 in Los Angeles. As he grew more and more interested in Blues music, he was more and more often called Keb' Mo'. And the name stuck. He received his first guitar at the age of 12; he bought the Silvertone from Sears for only $25.00. In addition to the guitar, he also plays trumpet and French horn.

Keb' Mo' first started recording in the '70s with Jefferson Starship and Para John Creach after he spent time in a calypso band as a steel drum and upright bass player. His debut, Rainmaker, was seen as a promising release. He released his self-titled album in 1994. Keb' Mo' received critical acclaim. The 1996 release Just Like You earned Keb' Mo' a Grammy Award. He would also win a Grammy Award for Slow Down, which was released in 1998. Keep it Simple, released in 2004, earned Keb' Mo' a third Grammy Award. Keb' Mo's sixth and most recent release, Suitcase, came in 2006.
