Josh Groban Information

Josh Groban was born in Los Angeles, California. He made his debut as a singer while he was in seventh grade, but began to let his grades slide. Josh Groban then enrolled in Bridges Academy, where he went on to record straight A's. In 1997 and 1998, Josh Grban attended the Interlochen Arts Camp, where he began to get very involved in theater and the arts. It was then that Josh Groban began singing in school plays thanks to his baritone voice.

In 1998, Josh Groban met Grammy-winning arranger/producer David Foster. Shortly after that, Josh Groban served as a stand-in for various singers at events. Following his graduation from the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts, Josh Groban expected to move on to Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. After completing one year there, Josh Groban signed a contract with Warner Bros. Records with the help of David Foster.

Following several appearances again on stage with other singers, Josh Groban finally released his self-titled debut album in 2001. Over the course of the following year, the release hit gold and eventually ended up double platinum. In 2002, Josh Groban performed at the 2002 Winter Olympics and had his own PBS special, Josh Groban In Concert. Josh Groban released his second album, Closer, in 2003. Closer hit No. 1 on the charts. Josh Groban has made appearances on the Oprah Winfrey Show, Larry King Live, and The Today Show, among others.
