A life as a computer geek wasn't enough for Jeff Foxworthy, who graduated from Georgia Tech in Atlanta and once worked at IBM. Jeff Foxworthy, the father of the "You Might Be a Redneck" fad released You Might Be a Redneck If... in 1993. Word of mouth brought it popularity and a larger record label bought it and backed it all the way up the charts. It sold more than 4 million copies and set records for a comedy album, reaching No. 3 on the Country charts. The follow-up album, Games Rednecks Play, climbed higher and crossed into the pop Top 10.
Jeff Foxworthy starred in the sitcom The Jeff Foxworthy Show in 1995 which was cancelled after one season, moved networks and lasted another season. Jeff Foxworthy hosts a nationally syndicated weekly radio show featuring country music, a forum which helped launch other comedians. A 1996 musical satire called Crank It Up: The Music Album was released next by Jeff Foxworthy. He returned to standup on the 1998 live album Totally Committed. Then Jeff Foxworthy moved to Dreamworks for 2000's Big Funny.
Jeff Foxworthy headed the Blue Collar Comedy tour of 2000 which started out as 20 shows and lasted 3 years. Together with Larry the Cable Guy, Ron White, and Bill Engvall, Jeff Foxworthy became the leader of the Redneck Ratpack. The tour became a wildly successful DVD and launched a popular television show by the same name, with Jeff Foxworthy as a producer. In 2004 Jeff Foxworthy released Have Your Loved Ones Spayed or Neutered. Jeff Foxworthy has also written comedy books and a cookbook called The Redneck Grill.
