Jackie Mason was shown in the last 40 years that he has lasting power that is on par with the world.s greatest entertainers. Recently Jackie.s star has grown larger than ever. Born in Sheboygan, WI, Mason grew up with among a family of Rabbis. Jackie eventually became a 5th generation Rabbi in the Mason family. He eventually left the synagogue to establish himself as a comedian. After humble beginnings in New York City, Mason gained his popularity with his appearances on the "Ed Sullivan Show". After the relationship between Jackie and Ed Sullivan became strained, Jackie.s career went on hold for about 10 years. After his long break, Jackie came back strong with his one man show "The World according to me". The show even had a two and a half year stint on Broadway. The show earned Jackie Mason a Tony Award, an Outer Critics Circle Award, an Ace Award, an Emmy Award, and a Grammy nomination, and it toured successfully in America and Europe for two years. Since then Jackie has had several shows that have been on Broadway that have also earned him numerous awards. Jackie has also made appearances on HBO and even had a role in the movie Caddyshack II. Politics have also been close to Mason. HE currently has columns in The Washington Times and The Jewish World Review.
