Howie Mandel Information

Howie Mandel, the host of the hit series Deal or No Deal originally received national attention starring on the television series St. Elsewhere for six years in the 1980s. Ironically he played a disheveled laid back everyman type of doctor. In reality he suffers from mysophobia (fear of germs) and obsessive compulsive disorder. He went on to create and provide voices for the Emmy-nominated children's animated series, Bobby's World which ran eight years. Howie Mandel performs a number of stand up comedy shows each year. He ranked No. 82 on "Comedy Central's 100 Greatest Stand-Ups."

Diring a trip to LA friends dared Howie to get up and perform at Amateur night. Fate stepped in and that led to an appearance on the comedy game-show Make Me Laugh. Talk show appearances followed and turned into an acting career. He has also been a standard on the comedy circuit for more than 25 years. He frequently appears on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno performing his signature hidden-camera bits.

Howie Mandel was born in 1955 and was raised in Canada. He met his wife Terry in high school and they have been married since 1980. The couple has three children.
