Genesis Information

Genesis formed in 1967. Throughout their history, Genesis sold over 150 million albums worldwide and is one of the Top 30 highest-selling artists of all time. While they took a break in 1999, seven years later, Genesis (minus Peter Gabriel) decided to get back together and start a world tour.

Former Genesis members include Peter Gabriel, Steve Hackett, John Matthews, Anthony Phillips, John Silver, Chris Stewart, and Ray Wilson. The original lineup consisted of Peter Gabriel, Tony Banks, Anthony Phillips, Mike Rutherford, and Chris Stewart. Current members include Phil Collins, Mike Rutherford, and Tony Banks.

From Genesis to Revelation was debuted in 1969. It would only sell 600 copies. Later on, Invisible Touch and We Can't Dance each went on to sell more than 20 million copies worldwide. To their credit, Genesis released 20 albums, four compilations, two EPs, and 36 singles. "Invisible Touch" was their only No. 1 hit in the U.S.
