Edwin McCain was born January 20, 1970. Even though the alternative indie rock singer/songwriter releases his albums under his own name, he does have a permanent band called the Edwin McCain Band. Honor Among Thieves was released in 1994 as Edwin McCain's first major-label release. Misguided Roses from 1998 saw the hit single "I'll Be" go mainstream. "I Could Not Ask For More" off of 1999's Messenger had the same success.
After Far From Over was released in 2001, Edwin McCain was dropped from Atlantic. His next release, 2003's The Austin Sessions was an acoustic collections released through ATC Records. Scream and Whisper, his first studio album in three years, was released through DRT Entertainment in 2004.
In addition to his albums, Edwin McCain has also released two DVDs. Mile Maker: Songs and Stories from Acoustic Highway was released in 2002, and Tinsel & Tap Shoes was released in 2004. Edwin McCain most recently released Lost in America" in 2006. It has been said that Edwin McCain has one of the most rigorous touring schedules, with around 300 shows a year.
