Dropkick Murphys Information

Dropkick Murphys, the multiple-member Celtic Punk band out of Boston, blends punk rock, Oi!, Irish folk, rock, and hardcore to create an original sound. The have five studio albums with each reaching higher on the Billboard chart. The Warrior Code, released in 2005 rose to No. 48. Formed in 1996, Dropkick Murphys have released two-three compilations every year. The band has made a name for themselves through nonstop touring all over the world and famous St. Patricks Day weekend shows which are held annually in Boston.

The band released a re-working of the Boston Red Sox anthem, "Tessie." Their version became the official song of the Boston Red Sox amazing 2004 World Series run and was also featured in the motion picture Fever Pitch. The band has been criticized saying their music tends to glorify violence and a mob mentality. After a few lineup changes 2006 Dropkick Murphys members include Marc Orell, Al Barr, Ken Casey, James Lynch, Tim Brennan, Scruffy Wallace, and Matt Kelly. A new album is expected by 2007.
