Dennis Miller Information

Born in Pittsburg, PA on November 5, 1953 he graduated from Point Park College in Pittsburg with a journalism degree. He quickly gave up the idea of being a reporter to try his hand in other areas. He started out as an amateur comedian, and eventually moved on to make it his profession by touring clubs, and eventually ended up in famous clubs in New York and California. In 1980, he became a writer for a local television show called PM magazine in Pittsburg, a hosted a weekend talk show called Punchline. By the mid 1980's Dennis Miller had landed a spot on the network comedy show 'Saturday Night Live'. 'Saturday Night Live' was considered to be a launching pad for numerous comedians. In 1992 he started his own show titled, 'Dennis Miller Live', and in 1993 HBO signed him on for 'The Dennis Miller Live' show. The HBO show has won Miller two Emmy's. Dennis Miller has also been in many movies, most of which are dramas. In 1994 he appeared in 'Disclosure', and in 1995 Miller costarred with Sandra Bullock in 'The Net'. In 1997 he starred in the Wesley Snipes thriller, 'Murder at 1600', and recently he starred with David Spade in the comedy, 'Joe Dirt', in 2001. Finally Dennis Miller did a three episode stint on the Fox hit, 'Boston Public' in 2000.
