David Spade's dry cutting humor was unexpected when audiences first saw his boyish looks but that is part of what made him funny. He started out doing stand up comedy and landed his first film role in Police Academy 4: Citizens on Patrol in 1987. A series of small TV guest roles in The Facts of Life, ALF and Baywatch followed. In 1989 The 13th Annual Young Comedians Show Hosted by Dennis Miller brought David Spade solo attention. The following year he joined the cast of Saturday Night Live where he built a following through 1996 and launched a film career. Some of David Spade's humor in condescending and hits below the belt which has earned him both fans and enemies.

In 1993 David Spade starred in the film Coneheads. Tommy Boy starring opposite SNL favorite Chris Farley brought success in 1995 and the duo followed up that film with Black Sheep in 1995. David Spade then played the snide office assistant on the sitcom Just Shoot Me. He managed to make the self-centered, manipulative smart-alec Finch into a very likable character for five years. At the same time David Spade joined a few movies that achieved little success. In 1998 David Spade starred in his own HBO comedy special David Spade: Take the Hit.

David Spade lent his voice to characters in the popular animated features The Rugrats Movie in 1998 and The Emperor's New Groove (2000) and the family film Racing Stripes in 2005. His first solo film project 2001's Joe Dirt was produced by Adam Sandler. Achieving some success David Spade wrote and starred in another film: Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star. In 2003 David Spade joined the cast of second sitcom 8 Simple Rules following the unexpected death of the show's star John Ritter. In 2005 David Spade began hosting Comedy Central's The Showbiz Show. David Spade also returned to stand up comedy. In 2006 David Spade costarred with several SNL alumni in the film The Benchwarmers.

David Spade was born July 22, 1964. David Spade grew up in Arizona and graduated from Arizona State University. He is the brother-in-law of famed designer Kate Spade.
