Even though pop metal band Cinderella has over half a dozen albums to their credit, they never really got the recognition of their glam metal counterparts.

Formed in 1984 in Philadelphia, Cinderella went through numerous line-up changes even before the release of their 1986 debut album Night Songs. Fellow musician Jon Bon Jovi is credited with the discovery of Cinderella in 1985. The band's line-up stabilized after the initial album release with members Tom Keifer (vocals), Eric Brittingham (bass), Jeff LaBar (guitars), and Fred Coury (drums).

It was with this debut record that Cinderella peaked at their height of popularity thanks to hit singles including "Shake Me" and "Nobody's Fool" and video exposure on MTV. At one point Night Songs was selling more than 50,000 copies a week and went on to triple Platinum.

After Cinderella's second album release Long Cold Winter and a 14-month tour with popular hair metal cohorts Motley Crue, Bon Jovi, and Skid Row, the band's popularity began to falter. A blues-influenced third album and singer Keifer's voice troubles contributed greatly to the decline. The release of a fourth album received little attention and Cinderella broke up in 1995.

1997 brought about a Cinderella reunion. A United States tour and the release of two more albums followed, but the band was dropped by their new record label soon afterwards. Cinderella went on to tour again in 2000 and 2002.

The Cinderella band members have been working on other music projects but are scheduled to appear with fellow glam rockers Poison on their 20 th anniversary 2006 summer tour.
