Christina Aguilera Information

Christina Aguilera was the second leading female performer of the late 1990s. She has a powerful voice that comes around only so often. Born on December 18, 1980 to parents of Irish and Ecuadorian background, Christina began her singing career by performing in numerous talent shows. She appeared on, and lost, the famous show Star Search in 1988 and later joined the cast of The Mickey Mouse Club as a Mouseketeer.

Christina's big break came in 1998, when she recorded the song "Reflection" for the Mulan soundtrack, which helped her get a deal with RCA. A year later, she released her self-titled debut album which featured many hits. Her first was "Genie in a Bottle," which ran to the top of the charts. Her next hit was "What a Girl Wants," which was the first number one hit of the year 2000.

With the success of her initial album, Christina performed at the Super Bowl and also won a Grammy Award.

In fall 2002, Christina released Stripped, which was criticized by nay-sayers and embraced by fans. "Dirrty," her first single from the album, revealed her sexual side and became a major hit on the charts.

Christina would marry Jordan Bratman in Novebmer 2005. Her third release, Back to Basics, was released in October 2006.
