Indie rock, pop, and rock and roll singer Christopher Joseph Isaak, born June 26, 1956, manages to combine country, blues, rock and roll, pop and surf rock into his music. Chris Isaak signed with Warner Brothers in 1984 and released his debut album Silvertone. He released his self-titled album two years later, and renewed his contract with Warner Brothers to release Heart Shaped World one year later.
Heart Shaped World featured the single "Wicked Game," which is Chris Isaak's best-known song. "Wicked Game" became a hit in 1991 when it hit No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100.
In 2001, Chris Isaak had his own television show, The Chris Isaak Television Show on Showtime. It lasted until 2004.
Chris Isaak's "Baby Did a Bad, Bad Thing" was featured in Eyes Wide Shut in 1999, and "Life Will Go On" was on the Chasing Liberty soundtrack in 2004. In addition to his music, Chris Isaak himself has also made various appearances in movies. Some of his credits include Little Buddha, The Silence of the Lambs, and That Thing You Do!.
Chris Isaak has almost a dozen releases to his credit, with the most recent, Best of, coming in 2006.
