Chicago Symphony Orchestra Information

The Chicago Symphony Orchestra mounts 200 performances and events a year featuring a pool of 110 talented musicians. Dutch conductor Bernard Haitink is the Orchestra's new Principal Conductor. Renowned French composer and conductor Pierre Boulez will serve as Conductor Emeritus.

The 2006-07 Chicago Symphony Orchestra season at Symphony Center will present the world and U.S. premieres of compositions by Mark-Anthony Turnage, Erkki-Sven Tüür, Christian Lindberg, and Ton Koopman. The Chicago Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1891 and is world-renowned. Recordings by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra have garnered 58 Grammy Awards, more than any other orchestra in the world. You can see them perform at Symphony Center, Ravinia, or Millenium Park, among other sites.
