Cedric the Entertainer Information

Born Cedric Kyles in 1964, Cedric the Entertainer started his career as a stand-up comic. He also sang and danced; hence the title "The Entertainer." Winning several comedy contests his television debut was on It's Showtime at the Apollo. He strengthened his following appearing on HBO and BET. Cedric the Entertainer went on to appear on The Tonight Show, The Chris Rock Show, Hollywood Squares, and Politically Incorrect. In 1994, Cedric won BET's Richard Pryor Comic of the Year Award.

Appearances on The Steve Harvey Show marked Cedric the Entertainer's transition into acting in 1996. Several feature film roles followed. Cedric the Entertainer continued doing stand up, travelling the country with Steve Harvey, D.L. Hughley, and Bernie Mac, as one of the Kings of Comedy headliners. He is now touring independently.
