Bruce Cockburn Information

Folk/rock guitarist and singer/songwriter Bruce Cockburn was born in Ottawa, Canada in 1945. He spent a year and a half studying at Berklee College of Music in Boston. Bouncing from band to band, Bruce Cockburn decided to go solo in the late 1960s. His first solo album was released in 1970 and he would go on to record more than 25 more. As a devout Christian many of his albums from the 1970s show evidence of his religious beliefs. He gained a Canadian following and then went on to conquer the US in the late 1970s. As his career progressed his music took on more social and political themes. In 2002, Cockburn released his first greatest hits collection, Anything, Anytime, Anywhere: Singles 1979-2002 Cockburn finished recording his 27th album in January of 2003.
