At 6 foot 8 1/2 inches Brad Garrett was easily recognizable even before his three-time Emmy Award-winning stint on Everybody Loves Raymond. The comedian, born in 1960, became the first $100,000 Grand Champion winner in the comedy category of the TV show Star Search. Next, at 23, he became one of the youngest comedians ever to perform on The Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson. The list of headliners he worked with following that appearance included Diana Ross, Liza Minnelli, Frank Sinatra, David Copperfield, Smokey Robinson, Sammy Davis, Jr., the Beach Boys, and Julio Iglesias.

He broke into television in the late 1980s appearing on a few short-lived sitcoms. In 1990, Garrett appeared as a semi-regular panelist on the 1990 revival of Match Game. His distinctive deep voice can be heard in a variety of cartoons as well as the Disney/Pixar films A Bugs Life and Finding Nemo among others. By the mid 1990s Brad Garrett was cast in Everybody Loves Raymond. He was nominated for five Emmys as best supporting actor, winning three. He was also nominated for an Emmy for his portrayal of Jackie Gleason in the television film Gleason.

In 2005, Garrett appeared on Broadway playing Murray the Cop in the revival of Neil Simon's The Odd Couplewith Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick. He is scheduled to star in the sitcom 'Til Death on FOX in 2006.
