Blind Guardian Information

Power metal band Blind Guardian incorporates legends, epics and fictional worlds in their music. Started in the mid 1980s in Germany, Blind Guardian has evolved from speed metal to more complicated arrangements, sometimes incorporating choirs. But the fast guitars and double bass drumming of power metal is still a part of their songs.

Blind Guardian has a huge international following. They maintained the same members for 20 years including Hansi Kursch, Andre Olbrich, Marcus Siepen, and Thomen Stauch. Their first lineup change came in 2005 when Frederik Ehmke replaced Stauch, who left to concentrate more on his other band Savage Circus. Oliver Holzwarth was added to the band as well. A Twist in the Myth, their new studio album, is due to be released September 1, 2006.
