Born in 1976, Blake Shelton wrote songs as a teenager in Oklahoma and played the local country music circuit. A chance meeting with famous songwriter Mae Boren Axton prompted him to move to Nashville weeks after graduation in 1994.
His 2001 debut single, "Austin," stayed at No. 1 on Billboard's singles chart for five weeks, tying the record. The Dreamer was his sophomore release, spawning a second No. 1 single "The Baby." The 2004 album Blake Shelton's Barn & Grill followed with his third No. 1 country hit "Some Beach." He has toured extensively with the likes of Toby Keith and Rascal Flatts. He is married to his high school sweetheart.
