Bill Gaither Information

Southern gospel singer and songwriter Bill Gaither was born March 28, 1936. So far, Bill Gaither has performed with the Bill Gaither Trio, the Gaither Vocal Band, and as a solo artist.

Throughout the years, Bill and his wife Gloria have written over 600 songs. While Gloria does most of the lyrics, Bill writes the music. Bill Gaither first performed with the Bill Gaither Trio in the '50s and is still going strong today.

Bill Gaither formed the Gaither Music Company, which acts like a record company in the sense that they deal with concert booking, television production, copyright management, retail store, recording studio and telemarketing for the Gaither empire. Bill Gaither is also responsible for Gaither Family Resources.

Throughout his career, Bill Gaither has won a number of awards for his efforts. Already a member of the Gospel Hall of Fame, Bill Gaither has also won Grammy Awards, an ASCAP award, and is an honorary Life Member of the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America (SPEBSQSA).
