Big Head Todd and the Monsters formed in Colorado in 1986 and have a decent following in the mountain states of the United States. They formed Big Records in 1989 and released Another Mayberry that same year. A number of releases later, and Big Head Todd and the Monsters' 1993 release Sister Sweetly would be their biggest hit.

Sister Sweetly would go on to hit platinum, and see three singles hit the charts. The studio album hit No. 30 on the charts, and Big Head Todd and the Monsters would release three more albums before their most recent release. Crimes of Passion was released in 2004.
