Ben Kweller Information

Ben Kweller had a notable rock beginning as the lead singer for the group Radish while still in his early teens. He learned the piano and the guitar in early childhood and started writing songs at age 8. At age 9 Billboard magazine gave him an honorable mention in its songwriters competition. He also learned to play the drums by his teen years. He had early influences from family friend Nils Lofgren, when he played with Springsteen.

Ben Kweller struck out on his own and tried to define his individual style by the time he was 20. Born in 1981 his debut album was titled Freak Out It's Ben Kweller. His first solo studio effort was Sha Sha, released in 2002. It gained a strong grassroots following.

In 2003 he toured with Ben Folds and Ben Lee, billing the tour and the EP that followed as The Bens." He followed that with a more mature second album called On My Way. His third album is expected out in September 2006.
