Avenged Sevenfold Information

The Huntington, California band Avenged Sevenfold, also known as A7X, recorded their first album when the band members were only 18 years old. The hard rock band featuring M. Shadows, Zacky Vengeance, Synyster Gates, Johnny Christ, and The Rev started playing together in 1999 while still in high school. They entitled the first Avenged Sevenfold Album Sounding the Seventh Trumpet.

Despite religious references in their name and stage names, Avenged Sevenfold does not proclaim to be religious. Avenged Sevenfold released a second album in 2003 followed by City of Evil in 2005. Avenged Sevenfold songs have been featured on video games and soundtracks.

Avenged Sevenfold musical influences range from Iron Maiden, Pantera, and Guns 'N' Roses to Billy Joel, Queen, and Elvis Costello. The Avenged Sevenfold style has been called a hybrid of metal and punk-pop. Years of live performances established a hard-core following for Avenged Sevenfold before many recognized their name.
