Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Information

Under Music Director Maestro Robert Spano five conductors lead the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra: Robert Spano himself, Donald Runnicles, Norman Mackenzie, Jere Flint, and Laura Jackson. The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra features 95 full-time professional musicians. Its members hail from every major American conservatory and music school. Complemented by the acclaimed Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Chorus, the ASO performs more than 200 concerts a year.

Since the millennium the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra has increased its emphasis on contemporary repertoire while still covering classical and pops. Atlanta Symphony Orchestra recordings have won an Audio Excellence Award, Gramophone and Ovation Magazine Awards, and many Grammy Awards. In addition to their series in Atlanta the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra makes national appearances which have included Carnegie Hall and The Lincoln Center. In 2005-2006 ASO performed performs Golijov's Pasion segun San Marcos.
