Artie Lange Information

Comedian and actor Artie Lange started out as a standup comic working a number of blue collar jobs by day. His family experienced tragedy in his early adulthood when his father fell from a roof and was left a quadriplegic. Artie Lange's big break came when he was cast in the sketch comedy MADtv. But drug and alcohol abuse and some brushes with the law brought his involvement in the show to an abrupt end. He completed rehab to kick his drug habit but he still drinks heavily. His famed eating and drinking binges have been fodder for a great deal of his comedy.

Artie Lange went on to earn a number of small film and television roles. He also resumed his standup routine. His following has grown since becoming a regular member of the The Howard Stern Show. Stern calls Artie Lange's life a perpetual adolescence and Lange's personal life is often discussed on the radio show. But audiences love him; seeing him is like seeing that buddy everyone's got who lives a life of excess and says the things no one else will say.
