Arctic Monkeys hail from Sheffield, England. Although they were already a hit overseas with "I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor" and "When the Sun Goes Down," both of which went No. 1 in the UK. Their debut Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I Am Not holds the UK record for most one week sales of a debut album.

Only having been around for four years, Alex Turner, Jamie Cook, Matt Helders, and Nick O'Malley found success in the United States as the Arctic Monkeys had the second-fastest indie debut sales after one week with 34,000 copies sold. After a North America tour, the Arctic Monkeys are going back into the studio with plans of releasing another album in late 2006.
