Born in 1973, Andy Griggs' father died by the age of 10 and his older brother, Mason, played a major role in his life. His brother sang in a local band while Andy Griggs focused on sports. But his brother died early when Andy Griggs was only 18. The devastated Andy Griggs moved back home. To help grieve he stepped in as lead singer of his brother's band.
In 1994 the band shared the bill with the famed bluegrass gospel group Jerry and Tammy Sullivan. Jerry's daughter would become Andy Griggs' wife within a year. The newlyweds moved to Nashville shortly thereafter, and Andy Griggs recorded more demos, including some duets with then-unknown Mindy McCready. After Mindy McCready became a star, RCA executive Joe Galante auditioned Andy Griggs and signed him in 1997. His first single, "You Won't Ever Be Lonely," peaked at No. 2 in 1999. In 2000 Andy Griggs release "She's More" which stayed at No. 2 for five weeks. "Tonight I Wanna Be Your Man" cracked the Top 10 in 2002.
Andy Griggs divorced in 2003. He tours and continues working on new music.
