Amy Grant Information

Born in 1960 Amy Grant was the first Christian recording artist to be certified platinum. She signed her first record deal at the age of 16. In the mid 1980s she crossed over to the mainstream market. She has earned six Grammy Awards for Best Contemporary Gospel Performance, as well as two Dove Awards. The 1985 song "Find a Way," from the 1985 release Unguarded, became the first Christian song to hit Billboard's Top 40 list, also reaching No. 7 on the Adult Contemporary chart. Amy Grant followed that up with her first No. 1 song, a duet with Peter Cetera.

Many of her Christian fans felt abandoned as she crossed over to mainstream pop, but many remained loyal. Hearts in Motion became her best selling album, selling 5 million copies. Later she would go on to explore soft rock and also return to gospel. But no matter the genre, in all of her work, spiritual themes weave in and out of the everyday experience. Amy Grant is married to country singer Vince Gill and is the mother of four.
