Mamma Mia is not only playing in the United States, but has also conquered Asia, Europe, and South Africa. Mamma Mia currently has more productions playing internationally than any other show.

Written by Catherine Johnson, Mamma Mia has been seen by more than 20 million people worldwide. Mamma Mia premiered in London at the Prince Edward Theatre. One year later, Mamma Mia began playing at the former Royal Alexandra Theatre in Toronto. With the addition of a Mamma Mia in Belgium and Italy beginning in 2006, Mamma Mia has been performed in nine languages. Mamma Mia has been performed over 1,500 times.

Mamma Mia is the story of a young lady who, on the night before her wedding, decides that she wants to learn who her real father is. Set on a Greek island, Mamma Mia tells a story of love, laughter, and friendship complete with a soundtrack of timeless ABBA songs.

Mamma Mia was nominated for a 2002 Tony Award for Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical, and Best Orchestrations, among other Tony Awards.
