The original production of Barefoot in the Park was on Broadway in 1963. Starring Robert Redford and Elizabeth Ashley, Barefoot in the Park lasted four years and over 1,500 performances. Barefoot in the Park was nominated for four Tony Awards, while winning the Tony Award for Best Direction of a Play. Following the successful run on Broadway, Barefoot in the Park was made into a major motion picture in 1967, this time staring Robert Redford and Jane Fonda. Patrick Wilson, the steady, dependable husband makes a wonderful counterpart to his light-hearted wife, Amanda Peet. Barefoot in the Park was also made into a sitcom shown on ABC during the 1970-71 television season. The 2006 revival of Barefoot in the Park features Amanda Peet and Patrick Wilson as the main characters.
